Serving Northern Ontario Golfers Since 1926
From the beginning...
Construction on the course began in 1924. An unheard of undertaking given it's location on an Island, but by 1926 the work was complete, and though it was owned by the Seagram family, became locally known as the French River Golf Course.
It quickly became apparent to local fishing lodges and resorts that having access to such a facility on the river was quite unique. It has made and continues to make the French River a vacation favourite.
Things have changed a little since then. Till the late 1960's the course was accessed by water only, ferried in usually by one of the local lodges. Amazingly enough, after 80 years and the families that have owned this little course it has continued to flourish. Each wanting to make it better, and indeed expanding and building to help it grow, yet preserving the essence of what it was and will always be.
Today we proudly offer the same quaint unique setting, and have added to that experience with onsite accommodation overlooking Dry Pine Bay on the French, a licensed Clubhouse and Docking facilities.
What better place to make new memories!
